tagsSo I decided to have my own practice yesterday- yes I know it was mother's day, but she was up in pennsylvania with my sister, so I didn't care much. Bought myself a softball bat and two balls (context?), and the bat is great. I think I need to get gloves though, since if I hit too close to the handle the vibrations (dear god the contexts here are amazing... :-p) are killer.
I got into an interesting discussion with a friend of mine yesterday. We were trying to figure out why certain sports are done with one hand and others with the opposite. I catch lefty (throw righty), but I shoot pool left handed. I don't understand...

So CSI NYPIRG had its Board of Directors elections yesterday and today. We have three seats and five people ran for said positions. There were about 230 votes cast, and the results were slightly surprising.
It was no surprise that my friend Kate Freitag won her seat again with about 153 votes (I seriously thought that she was going to get loads more, and according to Pete, she did better when he ran for board with her- about 250 votes). My friend Mike, who was running for the third time, finally won with 115 votes collected- which was a surprise to many of us. But the biggest surprise to me was the final winner in this escapade. With a total of 124 votes, the third seat holder became- me. I was shocked as all hell, that even with barely one full semester at the college I was able to convince people I was going to be a good representative for them... I'm happy as all hell though...
